I’d like to say Rory came flying into this world on February 3rd, 2016, but it was definitely more like a slow crawl. According to his momma he has kept with the trend and is the most chill and relaxed baby she has ever met. I will never be able to get over how amazing it is to take the first photo of a human. Ever. His first breath, first cry, first cuddle with mom. I am moved to tears with each and every birth I attend not only because it is such an important moment in someone’s life, but because I am trusted to be a part of something so special. So, mommas…I thank you. On the good days and not so good, as I sit here and edit your images I am reminded that most things in life are inconsequential and that the power of love can transcend all else.
Working alongside the incredible professionals in the Indianapolis birth community is such an honor, and I am so glad I have found a new friend in Caitlin and a new baby to cuddle with whenever my heart desires. 🙂

Rory’s first photo ever! I will never get over how cool this is.
That moment you’ve been waiting for. Momma…it’s here. You did it. This baby is all yours. <3
I might have a slight obsession with baby fingers and toes…
The rolls. The flakes. The vernix. So many fresh baby details that last such a short time.
No one will ever claim Rory has a boring personality… 🙂 Throwing that side eye, at 10 minutes old. Impressive.
I wish there was a way to bottle up new baby smell and keep it forever. Nothing in the world quite like sniffing a little baby’s head.

I had the pleasure of meeting Emily through a local agency, Indianapolis Doulas and fell in love with her outlook on life and kind spirit. Emily is a postpartum doula for Indianapolis Doulas and a fellow oil loving hippie like myself. <3 Safe to say, we had plenty to talk about at Archer’s session!
One of my favorite parts of being a newborn photographer is capturing that special bond between a new baby and his parents. I will leave you with one of my recent favorite quotes, which I believe sums it up better than anything I could ever begin to write.
“In the space, the pause, between this breath and the one that follows, you have made me whole” – Tyler Knott Gregson
Stay tuned for an intimate and emotional blog of Archer Kyle’s entrance into this world, coming very soon. <3

I first met Andrea and Josh about two years ago when they wed in New Harmony, IN. I assisted my good friend Ben with their wedding photography and videography, and fell in love with their infectious smiles and personalities. Check out their Save the Date video…they’re just the best. Fast forward to August 2015…my dad had a business trip planned to the Gaylord National on the National Harbor. I scored myself a last minute plane ticket, and I was off! My first trip to DC was so poorly planned, even for me! I’m walking around in the ridiculous heat, Instagramming to my heart’s content and Andrea comments saying we should meet up for a drink! That drink turned into several, after a little session in their city to commemorate two years together. I had such a great time wandering around the city with my camera, and hanging out with these two beautiful people. Maybe next time I can actually plan out a legitimate itinerary? 🙂

Andrea and Josh met one fateful night when they were snowed into a bar together, and the rest? History.

We shot their session in Capitol Hill, and I spent the majority of my time the next few days in Georgetown.
I mean, COME ON. Stunnas.
I was surprised to find such lush greenery everywhere I turned, but I certainly wasn’t mad about it.
I wanted to buy everything in sight in Georgetown, so I compromised and just ate everything in sight. Real Italian margherita pizza, sushi from Dean & Deluca and Georgetown cupcakes. Milk washed citrus bourbon at Barrel, watermelon pisco sours, and a whole lot of raw juice smoothies from Union Market. Thank god for Uber.

Back in August, Sara reached out to me about shooting a brand film for her photography business. That quickly snowballed into a full brand redesign and custom Showit site + Prophoto blog, a brand film, and family photos while I was in town! I have loved getting to know Sara and her family throughout this process, and had such a great time working with her. 🙂 Can’t wait to officially launch her new brand, website and brand film soon!
